I've seen, people says; ranking an event is all about spamming but my opinion is bit different.
Might be spamming is working for others but in my case it failed (many times).
So, here is what I did....
In September 2017, I bought an EMD domain. ( It was contacting primary keyword with some a,b,c,d at start & end like www.abcHappyNewYear2018efg. com)
Action #1- I published my 1200+ words homepage just after 3-4 days after booking domain. The homepage was containing all secondary keywords I had to target.
Action #2- Within 10 days of booking domain, I published & supporting posts on my secondary keywords and interlink them with homepage and also put each of these links with secondary keywords anchors from the homepage.
Action #3- Submitted Sitemap to Webmaster. (Post Sitemap, Page Sitemap & Category Sitemap)
I had enough time so, I left it for 2 week and in October 2017, I published another 2 posts of 1500+ words. The posts was targeting some long tail keywords.
Action #4- Bought social share gig and also setup micros for G+ & Twitter.

Action #5- I started building profile links slowly.
Built around 50 profile links & some low OBL comments backlinks in next 10 days.
Action #6- Taken links from my Web 2.0 networks. Around 35 links from mix Web 2.0....
Action #7- I saw, most of the secondary keywords & long tail keywords was ranking under top 5 pages ... In Middle of October 2017.
Went home in Diwali & left work for more than 1 week... (Not even checked my websites)
Action #8- After a week, I checked my secondary keywords and most of them was on page 3. Now updated my homepage with 600+ additional words with LSI keywords. Fetched in webmaster.
Action #9- Now, I started spamming.... Extracted all backlinks of my competitiors from AHREFS, filtered UR 20+ URL's and put the list in scrapebox (borrow from one of my friend) 📷😍 . Checked outbound links from those pages and filtered less than 60 OBL URLs and started commenting manually.
After 15 days, most of the Secondary keywords was ranking on the first page & my primary Keyword was on 2nd page.
I continued building links whole December and in the last 10 days, I took sitewide links with mix of anchors. Thanks to my friends for the sitewide 📷😍📷😍📷😍📷😍 Some was paid also.....
I hit #1 for many secondary keywords but suddenly NDTV came into action 📷😪📷😪📷😪
One of my post was performing extremely well & I updated that post. It was my biggest mistake. Ranking dropped for some high search volume keywords like Happy New Year Images 2018, Happy New Year Wallpaper 2018 etc...
I updated some more posts but ranking was dropped for each. (Thanks God, I didn't updated homepage 📷😜)

PPS: Site went down for more than 2 hours during the peak hours... But thanks to Jatin Siwach for fixing it...
