"floating" ads aren't allowed, but in this context is that considered a floating ad? All the float property does is help you to position your ad more precisely.. it doesn't mean it's sticky, it doesn't mean it's touching any other elements, etc.
Another question- if your ad overlaps a background color, is that OK? Lets say that this different colored div element cuts off before the ad does.
