Hey there! I’m starting to write for my first blog and I have this dilemma.
I’ve read and heard a lot about writing / blogging over the years, and it seems to me there are 2 opinion camps:
- Writing for others / ideal reader / etc - these people advise carefully crafting & editing your writing to be easily read and digested by readers, which leads to better SEO and ultimately greater reach
- Writing for yourself - these people advocate authenticity and solving your own problems, while “ignoring” (or at least not caring that much) about who reads it and if at all; relying on organic growth
I want my articles to be read and digestable, yet I don’t want to sacrifice my authenticity and care too much about metrics.
I’m curious about your experience!
