I have owned and operated my blog for at least seven years. The blog is one of my hobbies and passions. Unfortunately, my blog has never been able to rank despite being more active than competitors, my articles contain more information for reviews, and I have experience with this hobby for nearly a decade. What have I done wrong?
I compared my reviews to my competitors. My competitors' reviews have two hundred words while my reviews have 500 to 2,000 words. The length depends on the type of review. I also include videos of the products from my YouTube channel. Yet, none of my articles rank while my competitors are ranking just fine with less information.
I have not outsourced any articles for my site. I have written every article on my site since the start. I do not pay for links.
Sometimes I wonder if Google doesn't understand my niche. My blog is about certain trading card games. Google associates keywords for individual cards to my site. However, Google does not associate keywords for the actual games to my site. If you search review for a game covered by my site, then you won't find me. If you search for a particular card, then you may get lucky and find me on page 5.
Google Analytics state my average position for one of the games is 95. I have hundreds of articles on my site about the game, but Google does not recognize me with any authority. Another game on my site does not have any position in search results, and I also have over a hundred articles for this game's content and products. I've been using Yoast SEO to try to improve my ranking on Google, but it has not improved my standing on Google.
If you have any experience in a similar situation, then I would love hear how you were established your site on Google's search engine.
