I've noticed lately (mostly since starting my own blog) that advertisement is absolutely horrible on many blogs. Since I mostly use my phone for browsing, I don't have ad block.

There's an ad after every single paragraph. There's a video that auto-plays. There's an ad over there bottom 1/4 of the screen. There are affiliate links. Then, whatever content is left is impossible to follow because often the site is designed poorly. Half the time the site loads partway and you tap on something, and it jiggles at the last second so you accidentally click on an ad.

I know people want to make money and I guess this ridiculousness must work, but at what cost? I certainly won't ever return if I can help it.

I wonder whether advertising could be improved if it needs to be there. For instance, I don't know why I'm praising Facebook, but on Facebook it's a lot more seamless and they work hard on making ads tailored to you, although it's scary sometimes. They also give you some control over ads. On blogs, it's just whatever site you recently looked at. Like, I looked at that site already; I don't need to see it again. But I get that blogs can't mine information in the same way.

Anyway, get off my lawn.

What do you guys think?
