Does anyone have any knowledge surrounding how libel laws work with regards to a set of changing facts? For example, let's say I'm reviewing trucks. In my post, I state that "the brand x, model 1 has the lowest towing capacity in the segment". I make this statement in a blog post dated January 1st, and at the time of publication it's factually true.
Then, February 1st brand x updates their vehicle, and it now has best-in-class towing. This change makes my previous statement untrue. I know that from this date forward, claiming otherwise could open yourself up to defamation claims.
But...what about my previous statement? It still exists in a blog post that's live. At the time of publication it was true, but after February 1st, it is not. Are people required to redact or edit previous statements? Or are facts "locked in" at time of publication?
