I have a new technical blog with about five posts in the pipeline so far. My system so far is to write out my post in Google Docs, then copy and paste it into WordPress (using Elementor) once it’s ready.
I’ve had a few problems with this method that I’m not sure how to resolve: - The formatting gets messed up when I copy over the text. - I need to go through my content and find the headers, then change their element tags to actually be a header element. - If I have any code snippets or images I want to insert, I need to split up the content into separate Elementor blocks and add a new block in the middle of them.
All of this formatting is very time consuming and I feel like there must be a better way to do this.
On top of that, I’ll often edit the post in the WordPress editor afterwards, making my Google Doc version out of date.
What are your strategies for dealing with these problems? Do you just start off writing in WordPress and keep it as the original content source? If so are there any risks or disadvantages of doing so? Thanks.
