I just got accepted into Invisible Illness, a publication about mental health with 37,000 followers. I’m feeling pretty good about getting into a decent sized publication! I am trying for Psychology of Stuff (47k followers) because it is a little more broad and better covers my niche which is mostly regarding social psychology and human behavior, so less mental health and more broader applications of how most people’s brains work.
I keep going back and forth on applying for Better Humans (350K) but they have really extensive and specific requirements and LONG ones at that, an average word length of 2,750 they say. I would rather post more content than waste a whole week putting together a comprehensive “12 minute read” article. But I will say they actually pay you, so I may shoot for that endeavor in the future.
Let me know if you have been accepted to any publications and how many followers they have. What is a good range of followers to shoot for?
