» » » Started a tech satire website but am getting very little views and traction...any advice would be greatly appreciated...

Hello all.

I started a tech news satire website about six months ago. It's called the Bay Area Tribune and it satirizes work life inside tech companies (think Google, Facebook).

While I think there's a readership out there for people who want to laugh about tech companies, there's been very few readers and visitors.

I have an accompanying FB page and have been running ads here and there (pumping articles and a generalized campaign to get more 'likes' on my page), but I haven't been getting the traffic that I've been hoping to get.

Some brief numbers: I get about 300 clicks/visits out of 2000 (paid) impressions. I run maybe $1/day per article pump and a similar amount for the generalized ad campaign.

When I pump articles, I can expect about 30-40 views a day. When I don't pump, I get a measly 1-3 visits. So it seems money is required for growth and it's pay-to-play.

There have been times when an article has been shared and I rocketed from 40 views/day to 300 views/day, so maybe there's a chance of going viral. But nothing significant so far.

Wondering if these numbers mean I should keep going or curtail the project altogether.

Does anyone have any advice for growth?
