Dramatic title but I've been working hard at my blog for about 18mo now and it's been a ssslllooowwww climb. I was at ~50pv/day, then finally jumped to 200pv/day. With a little pinterest hustle, I could get to 300pv/day.
So on Monday, I had a pin that caught some good wind and blew up my traffic to 3.5k pv/day for 3 days! I'm dying, this is so awesome. But now it's starting to fizzle out. The problem is that I don't want to rely only on Pinterest to drive my traffic, and have been working on targeting keywords an optimizing for SEO since the beginning. However, organic traffic is only 9% of my overall traffic over a 30-day period.
It's a garden blog that focuses primarily on gardening. I added a recipe section and have been adding to that but haven't seen much return on the recipe front.
Is it time to diversify my content perhaps? I have 60 published posts, probably about 50 are garden related and the other 10 are recipes, all averaging anywhere between 700-2k words.
Any advice to keep the momentum and finally get some steady growth?
