I want my blogging site to be heavy on news content - but feel overwhelmed by the amount of news I need to put out

HI all

I set out to write 5 pieces of news for my blog a day. Today is the first day and i'm barely done with the first piece. Is writing news based pieces practical for one guy and his blog? How do you guys do it?
