Hey folks! I thought I'd share a handful of tips I've learned while setting up my newsletter+blog.
- Substack - this is a really cool platform, because from the beginning, it's built to be a combination newsletter+blog. It's not like other platforms that are mostly a blog (and hard to integrate to a newsletter) or vice-versa. It doesn't have a lot of customization, but it has monetization through paid subscriptions, and the open/click rate are higher than other platforms (ask me more if you're curious.
- One of my favorite source for signups is Twitter DMs. I post every day (mostly original jokes and videos), follow people with similar interests, and when they follow me back, I DM them about my newsletter. Quite a few signup.
- My other favorite funnel for signups is is emailing people from my address book, and the tool I like best is GMass because every step is inside GMail itself using a Chrome bookmark. 50 emails/day for free. Careful to check Gmail limits if you go above that, you can trigger spam alerts.
Hope that helps! If you like comedy, I scour the web for the funniest jokes and clips and share them every week in my newsletter, link in comments.
