» » » Is it unethical to adapt other bloggers’ or cookbook recipes?

To preface, I love to cook and I always am sharing my finished projects on Instagram. People always ask me to share the recipe, which results in my sending them a link along with 7 paragraphs about what I did differently to achieve my end result.

I have a blog that focuses on DIY (cheaper/easier) alternatives to store bought things. Up until now I’ve focused on home projects.

I’ve been playing around with the idea of starting to share these recipes on the blog, with an emphasis on how making things yourself is almost always healthier and cheaper than the pre-made versions to align with the mission statement of my blog.

Is it wrong if I use other people’s recipes on my blog? I would obviously give credit where credit’s due, and in the case of cookbooks, encourage people to purchase the book. But I’d also be adapting these recipes to include the tweaks I’ve made, along with tips on how to buy the best ingredients, cheaper options, etc. so I feel like it would be fine? I just wanted to get other bloggers opinions before I started.

TIA!!!
