I launched my own online magazine last fall. After a small wave of attention the first week or two, I quickly realized that friends and family were not as impressed as I presumed they were.
But I stuck with it. And just 3 months ago, I was struggling to reach 1,000 views a month. Then last month, I crossed the 2K threshold for the first time. Now this month, we've exceeded 3,000 views.
I launched my site in November of 2017, and this Thanksgiving will make it one year. The growth was painfully slow up to this point, but now I'm really beginning to feel the momentum.
Friends and acquaintances are reaching out asking permission to write for me (even though they know I'm not making any money yet). People are starting to ask me more questions about the site over social media. And my writers are extra motivated lately, pumping out articles at the speed of light.
I feel like I'm on the right track. I've put in hundreds of hours of work into building this and I'm just now starting to feel the momentum.
Consistency and a serious attention to detail are what brought me this far. And if I can do it, so can you!
