This was my third attempt at a blog and for the last six months I have posted twice a week, every week, without missing a single day - so I am pretty proud of that.
Anyway, the only advice I can give is this: If you enjoy writing then keep showing up and keep writing, you'll be glad you did.
Here is a little snippet of my blogging experience that I posted today:
As with most creative endeavors I've found that the more I just show up and do it, the easier it is to be creative. That's not to say the content is good.... It's just gotten easier to produce it.
So would I say I have achieved the goals I set out to achieve? I would say yes. I’m here and still posting after a year, a milestone most blogs don’t hit. I have also consistently posted for the last six or so months and have enjoyed the process. That, for me, makes it a success.
Another goal I had was to improve my writing. I'm not sure my writing has gotten any better, but I definitely managed to get to the standard I've set for this blog a lot faster with each post. In the past a post that took four days to write only takes one now, so I'll take that as a win.
I also know for fact I have made at least one person laugh - so what more can you ask for?
The next question that comes naturally is whether or not the blog itself is a success. The answer to that is categorically no. No one reads this stuff and I am terrible at promoting it. Most of my friends and family don't even know I do this. But that doesn't really matter, I'll probably keep plugging away at it anyway.
Stuck in the Muddle has reached one year and I thought that a milestone worth reflecting on. Let's see if I make it to 2020!
