Check out this Google search for wordpress.com blogs that contain the word 'music.' Visit any of the search result links and you'll find yourself redirected to blogs using custom domain names.
The same seems to be true for any search, such as a search for 'video games'.
Meanwhile, if you take the top music blog, Variety, you can also find that google has spidered the custom domain name version of the blog.
I have to believe many of the higher profile blogs launched with their custom domain names from the get-go and no other website should have even been linking to the wordpress.com versions, meaning Google wouldn't even know the blogs were accessible under the wordpress.com domain.
Also, shouldn't Google have taken notice that the blogs are using custom domain names and dropped the wordpress.com entries from its database?
What's the situation?
