I'm launching at the the end of this month (first blog) and I had an idea about passively generating income, but I want to make sure I'm not violating some rule that's going to get my ass thrown in jail or sued (or both?). Diving right into it, I hate ads with a fiery passion. I think they trash up a website, but I realize that blogs aren't free and I'd like to have a little "keep the lights on" money if I'm going to work this hard on the blog. My idea is to have a page dedicated to affiliate links. It would have it's own menu button and people could click on it if they wanted to support me. The page would say at the top that all links on the page are affiliate links and I would get a commission if they were clicked on to satisfy the partner agreement and I would write a blurb about each, but probably not more than 2-3 sentences. I'd probably link to an affiliate in a post if it flowed naturally, but I don't have any plans to write up entire posts dedicated just to one affiliate (not yet at least). I encourage you to poke holes in my logic. Tell me why you think this is a bad idea. Thanks in advance for your input :)
